My professional journey has been quite the rollercoaster ride. With 14 years of experience in finance under my belt, I’ve navigated through multiple career changes. It all started back in 2004 when I pursued a degree in computer-aided drafting. Balancing studies, single motherhood, and a full-time job was no easy feat, but I persevered, gaining valuable experience along the way. Despite coming tantalizingly close to completing my degree, a hiccup in the program’s requirements forced me to pivot.

Fast forward to the joys of marriage and motherhood, where I embraced the role of stay-at-home mom for a couple of years. But the corporate world beckoned, leading me back to the realm of finance, where I honed my skills in the source-to-pay sector for a decade. Then came a pivotal moment two years ago when an exciting opportunity knocked on my door. Joining my current company, I ventured into the world of IT as an Admin for Coupa, a cloud-based management platform. Despite lacking formal IT experience, my deep understanding of the system from an end-user perspective propelled me forward. At 37, I decided to embark on a new educational journey, diving headfirst into the realm of programming.
